Lake Worth Real Estate

Lake Worth is a vibrant, bustling coastal city in the Palm Beaches of Florida. Originally settled in the 1880s, the town rapidly doubled in size several times and continues to grow incredibly fast. With almost 35,000 year-round residents, Lake Worth is one the largest cities in the Palm Beaches area. The city’s growth, economic stability, and beautiful location have attracted immigrants from all over the world for many decades, so Lake Worth’s charming mix of old and new is made eclectic and vibrant with the languages, foods, churches, architectural styles, and other aspects of many different cultures, including European, Hispanic, Mayan, and Haitian.

Thanks to this eclectic mix and the recent revitalization of downtown, residents enjoy a wide variety of cultural activities and shops. Sporting plenty of ethnic restaurants, art galleries, theaters, music and dance venues, specialty shops, and street markets, downtown Lake Worth offers something fun and exciting to do for practically everyone.

Known as the place “Where the Tropics Begin,” Lake Worth features foliage from both tropical and temperate climates, making the city geographically unique. Several temperate-zone trees in the city, such as American sweetgum, Shumard oak, and tulip tree, are actually south of their native areas. While the foliage is mixed, the weather is decidedly tropical, with the year-round sunshine and ocean breezes that make living near the water a top choice.

Lake Worth Attractions

Situated between the Lake Worth Lagoon and Lake Osborne and bordered by Lantana and West Palm Beach, the city maintains several recreational facilities for the most popular activities in the area and makes it easy to take advantage of nearby attractions as well.

Residents enjoy several parks and playgrounds in the city, and most of them have more than just playground equipment, restrooms, and picnic areas. Bryant Park on the edge of the Lake Worth Lagoon also features a concert band shell with seating for 150, a boat ramp, and fishing pier. Howard Park has a baseball field, basketball courts, and tennis courts, while Northwest Park has several additional ballfields.

One of the biggest attractions in Lake Worth is its 1300-foot Municipal Beach, one of the longest stretches of protected public beaches in South Florida. The beach park area also has a swimming pool, restaurants, and shopping. The beach, pool, parks, and community center combine to offer residents a well-rounded selection of community programs, including kids’ sports and swimming lessons.

Other attractions for Lake Worth residents include the vibrant downtown area, the Lake Worth Golf Course on the lagoon, several country clubs and golf courses in neighboring towns, and the county-owned John Prince Park on the shores of Lake Osborne. This huge park contains miles of biking and walking trails and hundreds of acres of camping and picnicking areas.

Lake Worth Country Clubs

Lake Worth does not have it’s own country club, but it does have an expansive municipal golf course right on the edge of the Lake Worth Lagoon, giving golfers beautiful views of the lagoon, the islands and Palm Beaches, and the Atlantic Ocean. The course includes a pro shop, a bar and grill, club rentals, and golf lessons.

For additional professional golfing opportunities and exclusive amenities, Lake Worth residents can join several nearby country clubs, such as the West Palm Beach Golf Course, High Ridge Country Club, and Atlantis Country Club.
